The Skills Gap
Is Already Here.

Singapore is building one of the world's most ambitious digital economies. The talent pipeline starts with your child's generation.

01

AI Is Reshaping Every Industry

Deloitte's 2024 AI adoption report shows that agentic AI will transform 60%+ of knowledge work by 2027. Children who learn to direct AI now will lead the teams that use it tomorrow.

02

Singapore Needs Deep-Tech Talent, Urgently

Demand for AI-fluent builders is climbing across every sector, and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore still reports a shortage of over 3,400 cybersecurity professionals. National programmes are racing to build this pipeline from youth upward.

03

School Curriculum Hasn't Caught Up

MOE's curriculum builds computing literacy, but not the applied AI agent design or cybersecurity problem-solving skills that employers already require. This gap is not closing on its own.

Enrichment, not replacement, a critical distinction
04

The Earlier They Start, The Further They Go

AI hackathons, CTF competitions, and national tech championships reward students with years of practice. A child who starts at 10 has a meaningful head start over one who begins at 15.

Ages 9–16 Is the
Golden Window.

Between ages 10 and 20, the brain's prefrontal cortex, responsible for decision-making, logical reasoning, and problem-solving, is still actively maturing. Neural connections become faster and more specialised based on what the brain practises during this period.

AI and cybersecurity are skills-based disciplines. Like music or athletics, early exposure during this window builds foundations that are significantly harder to develop later.

This isn't enrichment for enrichment's sake. It's timing that matters.

9–16
The golden window, right now
The prefrontal cortex is maturing. Logical reasoning, problem-solving, and systematic thinking are being hardwired. This is when technical skills stick fastest and deepest.
17+
Capable, but rarely free
Teens at 17+ actually pick things up fast, but JC, A-levels and university prep eat almost every spare hour. Academic load crowds out the time and headspace needed to seriously explore a new field.
Competition pathway
Bootcamp students ship a live AI project and are introduced to the same challenge format used in Singapore's Central CTF Competition, a real head start in both fields.

Step 02 Build toward real AI hackathons
Agentic AI Cyber Essentials
The Semester-Long
AI Builder Programme

After the bootcamp, students join one ongoing, AI-focused programme that runs across the year, building real projects, tackling real-world challenges, and pitching their ideas like a hackathon. Here's the simple rhythm:

Every Saturday · Online

Live AI sessions on Zoom

A live session every Saturday, 10:00–11:30 AM, where students learn AI tools and build their projects, guided by the trainer.

Monthly Saturday · In Person

Meet-up at CyberSG TIG

Once a month the whole cohort meets in person at CyberSG TIG, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM on a Saturday, building together, face to face.

Every 2 Months · Showcase

Project showcase & pitching

Students present the project they built and pitch their idea to parents and peers, then vote on the best one.

The big idea, a real hackathon every 2 months
🚀 Every 2 months, students get a real-world issue statement, like sustainability, mental health, or supporting our ageing society, and use AI to build a solution for it, just like a hackathon. They spend the weeks building, then present and pitch it at the showcase.

Kar Wei
Founder, Hexcore Youth Academy

Kar Wei is the founder of Hexcore, an active AI and cybersecurity venture. She holds the OSCP, one of the most rigorous hands-on cybersecurity certifications in the world, and has been credited with identifying two real-world CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). She built the Hexcore curriculum from the ground up. Day-to-day, your child is taught and guided by a team of experienced trainers specialising in AI and cybersecurity, each delivering a curriculum designed by someone who operates at industry level.

AI & Cybersecurity Founder

Founder of an active venture building at the intersection of applied AI and cybersecurity, bringing real-world product, research, and operator experience directly into the curriculum.

🧑‍🏫

Taught by Experienced AI & Cyber Trainers

Students are taught and mentored hands-on by experienced trainers specialising in AI or cybersecurity, each selected and guided by Kar Wei to deliver the Hexcore programme.

🔐

OSCP Certified (Offensive Security Certified Professional)

One of the most demanding hands-on cybersecurity certifications globally. Requires passing a 24-hour live penetration test, no multiple choice. Less than 5% of practitioners hold it.

🚨

2 CVEs Credited

A CVE (Common Vulnerability and Exposure) is credited when a researcher identifies a previously unknown flaw in a real software system. Two CVEs means Kar Wei has found vulnerabilities that affected real users, globally.

★★★★★

"The bootcamp was fun and helped me take my cybersecurity knowledge to the next level. I would definitely recommend it to others who want to learn more about cybersecurity. My favourite part was the binary conversion session, where we learned how to convert numbers and use commands."

No experience is required for either pathway. Both tracks are designed for complete beginners. The curriculum is structured so that a student who has never touched code or used AI tools can participate fully and produce real outcomes by Day 3. What matters is curiosity, not prior knowledge.

Each 4-hour session follows the same structure: a warm-up activity, a concept introduction (kept tight and practical), a hands-on challenge, team-based problem solving, and a short reflection. There is no passive lecturing. Students are active from the first minute. Day 3 ends in a 2-hour mini AI hackathon on a given theme and problem statement, then presentations and closing.

The bootcamp is capped at 10 students per class, so every child gets direct, individual attention during hands-on exercises. The semester programme is capped at 15 students per class. These are not lectures; they're applied skills programmes, and the caps are deliberate quality decisions. When a class fills, it closes, no exceptions.

Yes. The September bootcamp is the first step in a longer structured pathway. Students who complete it can continue into the advanced AI programme, and high-performing students are identified for the competition pathway, including AI hackathons and national youth tech championships, where they build and ship real AI projects under time pressure. Hexcore Academy is designed as a progression, not a one-off.

The bootcamp is AI focused, with cybersecurity built in. Day 1 covers generative AI and prompt engineering, then why cybersecurity matters, network ports and protocols through Hexcade mini games. Day 2 is vibecoding a website or web game with Codex, publishing and testing it. Day 3 generates slides with AI and runs a 2-hour mini AI hackathon, presentation and closing. Track B (ages 13 to 16) goes further, video storyboarding and connecting a live Supabase database.
